I’ve made a lot of packing mistakes in my travels; I’ve under packed, over packed and sometimes just packed the wrong things. Here are some tips that I’ve learned from my past packing errors:
Nowadays, there’s lots of ways you can travel with less liquids in your carry on bag. Toiletries that usually come in liquid form like deodorant, perfume, sunscreen and even some shampoos and toothpastes can also be found in solid form, which can make it easier for you to pass through the security checks and can save space in your bag.
2. Folding vs. Rolling
Most people fold their clothes in the traditional way when packing, but you can actually save space to fit more into your bag by rolling your clothes. Try it – you’ll be amazed at how much more space you’ll have!
3. Be strategic
A little common sense goes a long way. Keep in mind that certain fabrics will take up less space in your bag (examples include satin, chiffon, silk and polyester, just to name a few). It also helps to pack clothing items that are versatile and can be either dressed up for a night out on the town or dressed down for more casual days. A little planning and tactical thinking beforehand can help simplify your packing experience.
Good luck packing and happy travels!
