Yesterday, I was getting ready and realized that it we time. I just had to do something with my hair. A few weeks ago, I wrote about how long it was getting and that I was going to try to make it to April or May since I was growing it out, but as I got ready, I knew it was time for it to go.
I hopped into my awesome car and drove to my hometown of Columbia which is only an hour and a half away because I was having a lunch with a friend of mine from high school. We hadn’t seen each other since we’d graduated from MU (University of Missouri), so I was excited and anxious, too.
We ended up eating at one of my favorite restaurants – Murray’s. She got the tuna and I got a French Dip while we split the salad and some fried eggplant. I love their fried eggplant. It almost seems healthy, right?
It was so fun talking with her and catching up. Both of us have had some tough times, but we both seemed to be doing pretty well. After our lunch, we made tentative plans to hang out again soon and then said our goodbyes. I immediately called the hair salon and booked an appointment. It wasn’t scheduled until later that day, so I went to the mall and did some shopping. It was good because I got some much needed workout clothes. Spring is coming and I needed some new shorts and such.
I told my stylist that I was going to be donating my hair, so he measured it to make sure it was of the required length. Then he made 3 braids and cut it. It’s kind of funny how unemotional I was. In the past when I’ve done this, I usually get a little sad or nervous, but yesterday I was anything but.
He seemed to have cut it at the right length, but ended up cutting off a bit more as he shaped it up. So, it is a little bit shorter than I’d really like it to be. I guess the good thing is
that it’ll grow out….
So without further ado…..
