Makeup Application 101: Step 1 Foundation
Let’s start by applying the base. Before applying anything, make sure to wash your face clean. Then, apply toner and moisturizer to keep your face smooth and moisturized. Then, apply a thin coat of primer all over your face. This will act as a “glue” to hold the foundation to your skin all day long. Then, you can use a brush, a sponge or your fingers to apply the foundation.
Blend the foundation to the outer corners of your face. Use the foundation to cover your face evenly in a thin coat. You can use a tinted moisturizer; alternatively, use BB cream and CC cream for a more casual look. Make sure to set the foundation with a translucent powder or a mineralized skin finish powder to set and lock the foundation.
If you have dry skin, you might want to avoid applying loose powder on the dry areas and only apply it on oily areas of your skin. For oily skin, you can choose to apply some matte oil-free finish foundation to keep your face from appearing greasy. It is advised to use blotting paper to touch up your makeup to prevent from getting an oily look.
Also, invest in a setting spray to set your makeup by spraying a thin coat of its mist on your face. It really does the trick by holding the makeup in place without needing to touch it up. That’s what Hollywood celebrities use for red carpet occasions or when they have to be on TV. It seals the makeup in place all day!
